Life Explored – What's the best gift God could give you?
We're going to be running the new Life Explored course from the start of May at Emmanuel. From the makers of Christianity Explored, it's a chance to look into some of the big questions of life, using video clips alongside Bible study. There'll be plenty of chance to discuss the big issues raised by the sessions each week.
The course is designed to help us uncover what we're really living for, and shows how, in Christ, God meets our deepest desire for happiness. Jesus said that he came so that those who trust him might have "life to the full" (John 10:10). But what stops us from believing this? Life Explored aims to expose some of the things that we put in the driving seat in place of Jesus.
There are seven sessions, and they tackle questions like:
- What keeps you going in difficult situations?
- What are you hoping will bring you fulfilment?
- What's your "if only"?
- What, if you lost it, would make you feel that life wasn't worth living?
Each time, there are some discussion starters, and a look at the Bible, and plenty of time to talk it through.
The course is appropriate for those who have been Christians for a long time, those who have been Christians for a short time, and for those who are not Christians at all! Feel free to bring your questions and comments; all of the course materials will be provided.
Life Explored begins on Tuesday 8th May 2018 from 8 to 9.15pm. Please get in touch with us if you'd like to come along: there are more contact details here.
We've run these other courses at Emmanuel over the last couple of years as introductions to the Christian faith. There are helpful animations, comments, and films on their websites: why not have a look and see?
