Frequently Asked Questions
Is the church open?
Because of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, both the Emmanuel church building and the hall are closed at the moment.
As a church family, we are meeting online for our main service at 10.30am every Sunday, and you're very welcome to see what we're doing - just go back to the home page to watch.
How can I give to the work at Emmanuel?
Christian giving is a response to God's wonderful kindness to us. The Bible encourages us to consider prayerfully giving regularly to the work of the church.
We are grateful for any donation, but do not want visitors to feel under any obligation to give.
Donations can made to Emmanuel Church by a number of different ways, including now by text message. Simply text EMM 3 to 70085 to donate £3.
You can donate between £1 to £20 by altering the number after 'EMM' – e.g. EMM 5 is £5.
Texts cost the amount you are donating plus one standard rate message. 5% is deducted from the donation to cover the provider's fees. By texting you'll opt in to hear more about the parish's work and fundraising via telephone and SMS. If you'd like to give £3 but do not wish to receive marketing communications, text EMMNOINFO 3 to 70085.
You can increase the value of your giving if you are a UK taxpayer through Gift Aid. This costs nothing but allows us to claim back 25p for every £1 donated. Simply reply to the follow-up text if giving by text message. In the future we will also be able to accept online donations (with details to follow).

How do I find out more about the Christian faith?
From time to time, we run courses like Christianity Explored, which take a look at what the Bible says, and what the Christian faith is all about.
Find out if there's something like that planned for the future, by getting in touch with us on our contact page - or just tell us your questions! We'd love to make contact with you, and talk about the best news in the world: the gospel of Jesus Christ.
